Site Polices: Effective Immediately

Due to the large number of free loaders in the open source community, we have decided to enact the following policy changes:

  1. Effective immediately, anyone who wishes to use the site will be required to create an account.
  2. All users will be required to register a credit card with their account to pay for the new fees being implemented.
  3. Due to the major changes in the licensing of Community Server by Telligent, there will be a one time sign-up fee of $10.00 per user account to offset the fees being imposed.
  4. Due to Dave Burke's hard work within the Community Server community, part of the sign-up fees collected will be used to pay for his use of this site.
  5. We will be enacting a pay-per-feed system in order to recover some of the costs for site traffic.
  6. Users who are not contributing to any projects will be required to pay a monthly fee to access the forums.
  7. Users who click on over 200 ads within a 24 hour period, will be given a $10.00 credit to their account.
  8. Users are limited to 1 free download per year.  Additional downloads will be charged based on the amount of time it takes to complete the download.  The timer begins the moment that the download button is clicked, and ends once you have received the complete download.  If a download fails, make sure to try again ASAP as the timer is still running.
  9. To assist with the costs being implemented, we are considering a multi-level marketing system for users to increase site activity.
  10. We will be doing daily mass mailings to all registered users that will contain 3rd party ads.  You must click on at least one of the ads or incur a penalty of $1.00 to pay for the mass mailing.

Those are the major changes, but there are a few more.  The full policy can be viewed here.
